Uni exam system= Super Mario
Ya, bagi yg tidak mengetahui, prufung itu periksa.
And yes, due to my noobness, I missed to register for the exams.
Ceritanya begini (alasannya begini)
My uni has weird system of exams. It has exams before and after the holidays(winter and summer). So altogether there are 4 periods of exams. Meanwhile the registration time for them are normally 1-2 months before the exams. So for the after-holiday exams registration are within the holiday, which makes it very easy for students to miss it. Ya la, cuti nak pikiaq sekolah buat apa lagi, kan?
If the time period is confusing, so is the timetable. It is because in every semester, one can take all the exams offered for every student regardless of year. So let's say you are a year 1 student, you can take almost all the subjects offered for year 3 students. The dates never coincide. Kinda helpful, right?
Downside is when there's too much flexibility, you tend to get stretched too thin. Mostly students end up with too many subjects up their sleeves.
Like me.
And I missed the registration period.
Which makes me carry more subjects in my winter jacket pocket.
So that's why I am a bit frustrated I miss the registration. Fathi even reminded us to register saying the period is only 1 week for registration. I assume (which really made an A** out of U and ME) that the 1 week is until Sunday. Bad luck, 1 week is only working days. So I missed the registration.
There is one process though, where the students can apply for the exams offline and manually, by filling up a form and giving reasons(excuse) why you missed the registration. Problem is, the process can only be done once in your whole study.
And I've used it in my second year. booohoo
After a while, it occured to me that my uni exam system is like a video game. There are worlds (year 1, 2 and 3) where you can choose where you want to go. Along the way you collect power up(papers/exams), which has different characteristics such as some give you ability to breathe fire(chemistry), run very fast(mechanics), grow invincible for a while(physics) or even better manage your hero(management). However if you hold the power up for too long, it will explode and backfire at you.
Like what happened to me.
And then there's the secret level! These levels are at year 2 and year 3, once you've collected enough points. And the secret levels are all in a different world, like Malaysia. So right now I am actually doing a secret level in Malaysia, spending three months of my time as a trainee in some company.
But what is a secret level without a boss?!
So after the students finished their secret level in whatever company they choose, they have to present a report to Herr Gra**, who is actually the boss. If you fail you will have to do the secret level again.
I also forgot to mention that every subject has 3 tries, meaning you can reseat a paper up to three times but if you fail that subject at the third time, you'll be kicked out of the uni. Game over.
There are cases that some subjects are extremely hard, that the students change their major after the 2nd try because they are afraid to take it the 3rd time as the chance to fail seems very high to them. Fortunately there is another option to that which is by using the trump card, ORAL EXAM.muahaha...
This power up can also be used only once in the whole game, AND it can only be used after the 2nd try of a subject. Hence it is not possible to use the oral exam after you failed the third try. Therefore students must plan very carefully as if they used the ORAL EXAM power-up early in the game, they will have very hard time progressing through the levels.
I still have my ORAL EXAM power-up though.
However since I've used my manual registration power up, I have to wait for the next level patiently. Meaning I'll be doing no revision and more jalan-jalan! yay!
okay2, seriously... I have to have to speed up with my study and come back for good.
Balik cuti hari tu, jumpa kawan dah kawin dah pon, omaigod!
Anyway nonsense things aside, dua' that I finish my study with whatever colour they have and become a useful person. Amin
