Boy, shine my shoe with your heart

"How much does it cost boy?"
"60p for a pair, ha'f a quid for two pairs."
"Two? You see me having four legs boy?"
The boy stuttered. "It's.. it's for the mam behind you."
The man turned around, his thick neck red with the effort. "Ignore her, she's not with me. Now go on with it," he said before adding the words of the posh, "I haven't got all day."

The boy was picking up the shillings the man threw on the floor, when the woman stepped closer. She smiled and jutted her left foot forward. Quickly the boy scrambled for his cloth and wax and was soon polishing her left stiletto, before proceeding with the right.

The woman peered downwards and looked at the result. The boy was agitated but then she smiled and took something out of her purse. "Here you are," she said smiling. It was a paper note.
A five pound note! The boy's agitation grew worse, causing him to be barely able to speak. "Ma..ma.. mam. This is too much."
"Take it," she smiled. "Take it, and shine in anything you do in the future, like you shine my shoes"

The boy pondered as she walked away.

So what happened to the boy? Well, he later became a successful man and further helped other unfortunate children like how he were in the past.

End of story, start of rant.

A girlfriend to a friend of mine, syafiqah, wrote this.
And afiq, being her bf, went all mushy-mushy and wrote how he agrees.
haha.

Anyway, in my inability to give sound opinions to those two person and justifying them, I ended up writing the short story above. Point is, whatever job or occupation you have (student is a job) or going to have in the future, the thing that matters is sincerity and how you do it. That includes engineers, doctors, teachers, architects(?) aite.
Apa guna jurutera yang reka bangunan, pastu runtuh sebab songlap duit dan guna simen murah?
Apa guna cikgu mengajar semata-mata sbb dia tau budak tu anak menteri besar?
Apa guna doktor yang bg diagnosis kpd rawatan paling mahal, utk beban pesakit?
You get what I mean.

So be a good teacher gal and a good engineer bub. Yang beriman dan beramal

p.s.
1. I sound somewhat weird in this post. Must be because all of the resolutions buzzing in the air. Or is it the fireworks?
2. I personally think society can easily do without engineers, as technology without morality is dangerous while people can still live in harmony the other way around(morality without technology).
