Mubarak, mesir dan mak ayah

Mubarak turun 'takhta' 11.02.2011, yang mana sebelum tu penuh berita tentang kacau-bilau, mogok dan sebagainya. Rakyat Malaysia ramai kat Mesir maka secara langsung kekacauan kat sana jadi berita utama untuk ramai rakyat Malaysia. Sebab internet kena sekat, sumber utama perkembangan berita antarabangsa, Aljazeera.

"Kat Egypt aman sebenarnya, berita tu duk tunjuk kawasan hot spot," kata salah sorang kawan yang tengah cuti-kena-bawak-balik kat Malaysia. Mungkin sebab ada orang lain kata camtu jugak, yang aku terbaca sesetengah tweet kurang bijak. Antaranya bunyi macam, "Kalut pa wei, kawan aku kat egypt kata depa lepak ja. Orang Malaysia pulak yang kalut suruh balik."

Although I can't seem to find the tweets/fb-posts but I am sure there are quite a few during those times saying how Malaysians are inconsiderate in demanding for the government to take action.
"Memang la cek oiii, anak ada kat sana, mesti la risau."
Then come the answer like the above, "tapi yang betulnya kat Mesir takdak la teruk mana pon, media ja tunjuk lebih."

Mak Ayah.
It is a mother's instinct to worry, thus anyone saying that actually everything was a propaganda and stuff, is not being considerate to the mother. Let take an example that you are going on a camping trip in Hutan Negara in a week, when your mother saw a news about a polar bear killing an Eskimo.
"Man, nak pi jugak ka camping tu. tak payah la.."
"Nape mak? Kan hari tu semua dah ok," Man cakap kay ell.
"Mak tengok tv ni, ada orang kena makan dengan beruang,"
"Kat mane tu mak?"
"Ni, dekat kutub utara. Beruang tu makan orang tu. Mak takut la,"

You might want to facepalm yourself, which I totally understand, but to be fair that is how mother's 'work'. I bet there are mothers who cry when the read/saw all the news about the ongoings in Egypt, while the father stood strong and stoic, putting up a brave face though in truth he isn't that different.
"Man, ayah tak bagi ko gi camping."
"Nape ayah?"
"Menjawab pulak ko. Ayah tak bagi, ko berani nak lawan?" he'll ask rhetorically, due to watching the same polar bear news.
Hard to believe a cuddly creature is dangerous.

Although the workings and worries of parents are hard to decipher and there are exceptions to this, as their children we should try to put this things into consideration when we say/act. It is said the sign of maturity is to understand others. "Nanti hampa tau la camna mak rasa, " my mother sometimes would say, which I hear more often repeated by my sisters and brothers as they grow older too. Yes, sometimes their worries are unwarranted and unhelpful, yet it is their nature and to our own actions can we curb their worries. Back to the topic, I think some of the comments regarding the situation in Egypt should be filtered a bit.

All well, ends well.
As far as I know no Malaysian was injured (right?) and the government had successfully brought home all our citizens abroad.

Criticism? First applauses for the effort.
Secondly I think all in all there is no need for any harsh comments, let alone demonstration in front of Putrajaya to bring the people back. That is a bit uncalled for as it is almost impossible for the government to abandon it's thousands people in Egypt. Like some have stated before, it takes a lot of planning and resources  to carry out the logistic task of bringing them back. All those shouts condemning the government, by the opposition, is also inappropriate. Why would a calamity be politicized, I cannot fathom. I think the government did what was needed to be done and precautions have even been taken, where students overseas  are needed to notify the local ambassador if they were to travel to another country. Preemptive action implemented, a lesson learned it seems.
HOWEVER, I feel that the government could have handle the situation better by reassuring the parents earlier. Nothing much, something along the line, "we are doing our best etc3," instead of spamming everyone how wonderful his childhood was, celebrating Gongxi fa chai and eating kuetiau. Right?

P.s. polar bears are actually among the few animals which hunt human being for food. Here's a yahoo answer which isn't really reliable, though I heard it first in BBC: Human Planet.
