Yes, 3 easy steps. Well, it's not actually easy but I regard them as initial steps, among the first things to be considered if you want to have a 'better' English. These are however not steps to improve your grasp on the language, as nothing beats practice(speak) and learning(read&listen), rather these are steps that I think people should practice sometimes.
Reasons
Sometimes is very vague. Before I write the steps, readers must first understand the reasons for this is not to be superior to other people and brag. Instead what is intended by this post is for people to be able to convey messages across, in a better way.
"Bagi saye nasi telur dadar dengan air suam"
"Awat bila hang order, hang cakap loghat KL."
Because sometimes people have a hard time understanding! Another reason is when you talk in the same 'language' the other person is using, it is easier for people to relate, thus the message can be transfer across easier. A simple example for this is when a Malaysian(non-chinese) talk to a Malaysian Chinese, "Aiya a, apa pasal lu buat itu macam".
Steps.
1. Make no mistakes.
2. Make simple sentences.
3. Make them appear complex
1. Make no mistakes.
To avoid the simple mistakes like 'they eats', the only way is to read/hear and be exposed more to the language. However they are mistakes that can be avoided easier than others, by using simpler words. Like my teacher once said, if you don't know the word in English, don't use it. Avoid the mistake of direct translations as it never transfer the messages well.
2. Make simple sentences.
Try to build short sentences. For example try to avoid making long sentences that uses very little pucntuations and lots of conjuctions as this kind of sentences are hard to comprehend by the reader due to the nature of its long sentence and excessive words that doesn't add any real meaning but only serve the purpose for my second point. See what I am saying?
3. Make them appear complex.
This might seems like the opposite to number two, though it is not. Short sentences can still sound complex, in a good kind of way, where it helps the flow between the sentences. For instance use conjunctions every 3-4 sentences as it helps from making them sound too bland.
Certain conjunctions are actually simple but they add colours. Plus they are not that hard to understand, nor remember. For instance, the words in bold are some of the examples.
Three steps.
These are my opinions. As I am sure others have their own view too, it would be good if others would give theirs. Care to add, anyone?
