what's so phony?

what's this?

"apa salah camca sampai kena gelak"
and so a statement i read,written by my friend.
initially i thought it was referring to some kind of children story,a nursery rhyme perhaps;

~the cow jumped over the moon,
the dog laughed,to see such sport.
and the dish ran away with the spoon.

my imagination was running wild with the fiddle.
but it stopped midway when i realized that it was in not the smallest way connected to the nursery.
it's just that people laugh when u say 'camca'.

well.
when i was small my cousins from KL would come to my home during the hols.
we were so damn bored,so i suggested
"jom naik gerek"
a milisecond of silence;followed by full 5 secs of laughter

okay.
so i was a kid and thought that the whole world talked the same language.
apparently not.
it seems that they never heard the term 'gerek' before.
and it sound funny to them.
not to me though.
kids as my cousin are,they laugh at me.
ha ha.

but it still happens once in a while in GMI.e.g.-
1. camca
2. timba
3. air(ayaq-which is actually difference of pronunciation)
4. and a few more that i cant seem to think of now.duh

now it happens the other way around
i laugh at certain terms in german
1. ach so="ooooo",a mean of expressing awe or understanding in german
2. aua="ouch" in german
i still have no idea why,but these terms sound funny most of the time.

in the end i act just like my cousins.
guess its human nature.it's a kind of mechanism for social communication among the human.
e.g. u meet a person...
u talk with him/her....
u heard a foreign term...
u think it's funny...
u laughed...
then u either get closer(laugh=ice breaker),u feel connected
or u also get closer(laugh=mocking tool),u get punched in the face


by the by,even english accents sound funny.
i've watched tv in ireland and laugh so hard,
that my friend asked,what was so funny
so i said,
"i don't know.u tell me.what's so phony?"



note:
1. gerek is a device that consist of two wheels,a seat and a handle connected together by an iron frame,which is normally used to carry up to two people(or in isolated cases up to 4 person)
2. timba is a household item that is widely used to contain an amount of water
3. camca is equivalent to a tablespoon
4. tayar is not pronounced tayaq in dialect kedah(nazmi the language picasso)
5. FF->> fast forward
