This morning I began the day by wanting to eat something
that I used to have a long time ago.
It is toast with butter spread on it and yes, the white
spots are sugar. Sugar sprinkled on buttered toast.
I fold a slice in half and bite into it, the sweetness together with the crisp bread are mixed well by the butter, bringing a taste that I used to experience a long time ago. I used to eat this when I was in elementary school, as prepared by my mother.

In retrospect, it is probably not the hardest thing to
prepare and not exactly healthy (sugar?) but hey, compare to canteen’s food, I’m
sure it is much healthier and CLEANER. Besides, nothing beats food prepared by
your mother, which I usually find it a pity that most children nowadays don’t
have the time to experience. They can’t quarrel/compare about their mothers,
such as “My mother can make scramble eggs with her eyes close. In fact, she
normally does, in the morning.”
“My mother can make Milo in 3 seconds! She’s faster than dash yankuro!”

Well, my mother? My mother used to make 'sugar sprinkled on
buttered toast'.
A simple thing.
But the best things in life, are mostly simple.

My dad used to make me sunny side up and draw face with chili sauce on top of it, with cucumbers as ears.
