guy friend said to me,"Girls love it when people write to them. Write in the sense sending letters, by pens and paper.…they think its romantic.""Oh yaka." Which is my way of saying I don't quite care, nor believe it. But then again....
*********
As far as I can remember, my secondary school had always held the most beautiful class competition every year and in its tradition, the students somehow will decide to cover their desk with papers.
Beautiful wrapping papers, full with sketches and patterns which creates quite an effect if the whole ~30 desks are covered with it. In fact the same effect could be obtained if my pictures are used, but thats not the point.
Anyway these papers are not exactly cheap so to prolong and reduce wear and tear, they even suggested covering the paper which is covering the desk, with translucent plastic. You still following me?
Now, normal plastic won't do because they tear so easily so hard plastic is used instead. The problem is these hard plastics aren't that easy to be adhered to the desk, and even after pinning at the four corners of the desk, a few usually pops up. I, being the energy-efficient pupil that I was, let them simply be. My desk has a plastic which is pinned only on two sides at the far top of the table and through it I can see the beautiful wrapping paper below.

One day, I saw a friend stowing a note given by a teacher, under the plastic. He could easily read the note without cluttering his desk or risking blown by the wind. I think it was useful so I begin to follow suit. I liked it so much that after a while the papers grew in numbers and although I like the cushioning support the papers give while I write, there is only so much that a betweeen-the-cover can fit.
Other than the notes and papers given by my teacher, I used to write things on paper. Words that I think could be useful in essays, I wrote them on papers and stuff it under the plastic cover.Things that need to be memorized in biology, I wrote them together with the list of bombastic vocabs. Mathematics formulas, points in history and etc, all mashed together. They do prove useful as I can refer to them in time of need. Due to its nature containing lots of things, my friends called it "Poket Doraemon", a place where I store my notes. There are even times when I got so bored (they were often), that I wrote stories on those papers. These I also crammed below the plastic cover, which makes perfect sense why after a few months I have to take all the papers and sort them out.
During the sorting out process I usually end up reading the stories back, some as old as half a year, most I had forgotten that I had written them. I laughed at most of the nonsense, fold them and stowed inside the desk or insider a file. I still keep some of these papers, even to this day, and I have typed some of it online in case I accidentally lose them. However, I have still kept the originals, written in my ugly handwritings and once in a few year when I decide to clean up, I would stumble upon those stories in the yellowed papers and smile as I read them.
I guess that's what my friend was telling me, about girls, romanticism and written papers.
